Peter Warmerdam Veterinarian / Owner
Trained at Massey University I graduated in 1987 and commenced work shortly afterwards here in my home town of Upper Hutt. After gaining a broad practical base I decided to extend my experience and spent 9 months working in Britain and Holland in several mixed practices. On returning to N.Z. in late 1988, I took up a permanent position at this practice. In 1990 I purchased the practice and have since managed and developed the clinic to cater for the veterinary needs of the Upper Hutt area. With the growth of the practice and more vets being employed, more of my time is now spent on support as consultant to the other vets and practice management.
I continue to live locally with my wife and two children and our pets; Milly a Schnoodle; and Coco a smoochy, full of fun Burmese. My hobbies are tramping, cycling, fishing and forestry. |

Andrew Cassells Veterinarian
Having grown up in the Hutt Valley I graduated from Massey University in 1998. I then headed north to the far reaches of the Scottish Highlands where I gained experience with all creatures great and small. After 18 months I migrated south to West Sussex to thaw! I worked in a busy small animal practice for three years while starting a family and now find myself traveling full circle, returning home to settle with my family here in Valley in February 2003…..
Now almost seven years on the practice has grown both in staff numbers, facilities, and most importantly the quality of care for our patients. I enjoy the wide variety of work Maidstone offers. Over the last six years my focus has turned toward companion animal surgery. This has challenged and tested my skills and encouraged my learning. The rewards have been immeasurable. My family life is busy with two children one Springer Spaniel named ‘Lilly’, one cat named ‘Kitty’ and now three chickens (but this does not make me a chicken expert!)

Brandon Brooks Veterinarian
I grew up on the east coast of the United States, graduating from Virginia Tech with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1997. My professional interests involve pets of the household variety and I am currently owned by three cats. I have had dogs in the past and look forward to getting another one here someday. I have long admired New Zealand from afar and once I realized that there were chances to live and work here as a veterinarian I jumped at the chance to move Down Under. Brandon's hobbies include improvised acting with the Wellington Improvisation Troupe (WIT), coffee and tramping
